(Editor's note: ESL teacher and Easy English Times Editorial Board Member Mimi Pollack sent the stories below. They were written by students in her Mid-City Center level 5 class. The assignment was to write about a family member, describing both good and bad qualities.)

My son - good and bad

by Laura Espinoza (Mexico)

My son is a very good and smart son. He has a good memory. He researches about fixing cars on his computer every day. Sometimes he fixes his cars. He is very polite with everybody and he speaks English and Spanish very well. My family loves him.

My son doesn't like school. He prefers to work. He likes to stay at home and watch TV, read about cars and sleep. He is smart, but not academic.
